Jolimont

Querências do Sul Touriga Nacional

A red wine from Campanha Gaúcha, Brazil. Made only from Touriga Nacional.

The house says

Jolimont created its Querências do Sul line to show the whole of Rio Grande do Sul, one region per bottle. This is the Touriga Nacional, Portugal's signature grape, grown in Bagé, in the Campanha, near the border with Uruguay: a year in French and American oak, floral (violet), black fruit and a background of chocolate and coffee. It calls for grilled meat or lamb. It isn't in the X-Wines database, so it has no rating from people who drank it yet. Had it? Raise a glass and tell us.

Basic details checked by the house in Sep 2026; alcohol content and acidity will be added once the house checks the label.

No rating from drinkers yetThis label isn't in the X-Wines database, where the search ratings come from. The house added it because the community asked; the house doesn't make up ratings. The community rating, just below, is a different one: it comes from cellar members.
Had it already? Give it a Cheers and tell us on Open Bottle: that's how it gets a voice.

Are you this wine's producer?

This page comes from the public X-Wines database or from what the house read on the producer's website. Whoever makes the wine knows best: send the official tech sheet, correct what's wrong or ask for it to come down. No producer pays to get in, to move up or to leave, and the sheet you send takes precedence over any other source.

Goes well with

Red meat, lamb and game.

A suggestion, not a rule: if you liked it another way, you're right.

A label outside X-Wines, an open scientific dataset (de Azambuja, R. X. et al., 2023): basic details gathered and checked by the house, in the month shown under “The house says”; no rating, because ratings aren't made up. The price range only shows up once the house checks it at a big store in Brazil; this one hasn't been checked yet. Finds with the price checked on the date are in The Garimpo.
