Terms of use

The short, honest version — like everything around here.

1. Content for adults 18 and over

This site is about alcoholic drinks and is intended only for adults 18 and over. By browsing, you confirm you are of legal drinking age in Brazil. Enjoy in moderation.

2. Informational purpose

All content is for informational and cultural purposes. Nothing here is medical or nutritional advice — for health matters, see a qualified professional. We’re honest about the science of alcohol (see our article on the subject) and we don’t promote drinking as a health benefit.

3. Independence and advertising

Our opinion is not for sale. Advertising or sponsored content, whenever there is any, will be clearly labelled, and limited to products that have passed the house’s test (ones we’ve had ourselves, tasted and approved). Positions in the community rankings reflect real votes and are never for sale.

4. Sources and mistakes

We cite sources in all informational content. Spotted a mistake? Tell us on Instagram @vinhozinho — fixing things fast is house policy too.

5. Intellectual property

The Vinhozinho brand, texts, illustrations and visual identity belong to the house. Share with credit and a link; don’t reproduce them commercially without permission.

6. What you post on Open Bottle

When you open a bottle on Open Bottle, you guarantee that you actually drank what you’re telling us about and that the photo, if there is one, is yours. The photo and the text remain yours; you give the house a free, non-exclusive license to show them on the Vinhozinho site and social media, always with your nickname. You can take the post down whenever you like, in your cellar. The house also takes down, and says why, anything that is advertising, offensive, snobbish or a tasting note copied from a label. The photo is shrunk on your device before it’s uploaded, and location data is discarded in the process. The optional profile photo follows the same rule: it’s yours, you can remove it whenever you like, and the house removes anything inappropriate.

7. Respect is the house rule

The table belongs to everyone. On Open Bottle, in the conversation under each bottle (À mesa), in your profile photo and anywhere else you post, there’s just one rule: respect. No offensive content, harassment, discrimination of any kind, snobbery toward people who are learning, advertising, content that isn’t about wine, or other people’s personal data. Whatever crosses the line, the house takes down, and explains why in your cellar. Anyone who keeps at it has their cellar closed and their content deleted, along with the points it earned. You can edit and delete what you’ve posted at any time, in your cellar or on the card itself.
