Krontiras

Cosmic Amber

A white wine from Maipu, Argentina. A blend of Torrontés, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc.

The house says

This is an orange (or amber) wine from Krontiras, the winery a couple, Constantino and Silvina, started in Mendoza in 2004: organic since 2009 and biodynamic since 2012. Orange wine is white grapes made like a red: the juice ferments with the skins, which give the amber colour, the orange-peel aroma and a light tannin. Here it is three white grapes from Maipú, Torrontés, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc, and the blend changes from vintage to vintage: the 2022 was led by Chardonnay; the 2023 by Torrontés (70%, with 20% Chardonnay and 10% Sauvignon Blanc, 12% alcohol and 60 days on the skins, according to the Norwegian monopoly's analysis), with native yeast and each grape fermented separately. The tasting sheets mention orange peel and marmalade, peach, green tea and herbs, dry with fresh acidity, and suggest Thai food, curry and white meat, at about 10 to 12 °C. It is not in the X-Wines base, so it has no rating from drinkers yet. Had it? Toast and tell us.

Basic details checked by the house in Oct 2026; alcohol content and acidity will be added once the house checks the label.

No rating from drinkers yetThis label isn't in the X-Wines database, where the search ratings come from. The house added it because the community asked; the house doesn't make up ratings. The community rating, just below, is a different one: it comes from cellar members.
Had it already? Give it a Cheers and tell us on Open Bottle: that's how it gets a voice.

Are you this wine's producer?

This page comes from the public X-Wines database or from what the house read on the producer's website. Whoever makes the wine knows best: send the official tech sheet, correct what's wrong or ask for it to come down. No producer pays to get in, to move up or to leave, and the sheet you send takes precedence over any other source.

A label outside X-Wines, an open scientific dataset (de Azambuja, R. X. et al., 2023): basic details gathered and checked by the house, in the month shown under “The house says”; no rating, because ratings aren't made up. The price range is the one the house saw at big stores in Brazil, in the month shown: the price changes, the range tends to stay. Shipping isn't included. The house doesn't sell wine.
