Indicative price ranges, checked in August 2026. In Argentina, Chile and Uruguay we use dollars to get around exchange rates and inflation: $ up to ~US$ 10 · $$ US$ 10–25 · $$$ US$ 25+ (in Uruguay the scale runs higher; count on the top of each range). In Europe, euros: $ up to ~€8 · $$ €8–20 · $$$ €20+. In Brazil: $ up to ~R$ 45 · $$ R$ 45–100 · $$$ R$ 100+. Check on the shelf: prices change, the selection doesn't. Criteria: labels widely available in ordinary supermarkets and wine shops; no producer paid to be here; lists sorted by price range, not by ranking.
The paperwork part, no drama
Bringing it on the plane: Brazil's real rules
It's the duty-free limit per passenger arriving in Brazil by plane, adding up EVERYTHING you bought, wine included. Go over it and you pay 50% on the excess (and declare it on arrival).
Each person 18 or over can bring up to 12 liters of alcoholic drinks, the equivalent of 16 bottles of wine. This limit applies together with the value allowance.
Liquids over 100 ml don't make it through carry-on screening. Exception: duty-free purchases, in the sealed bag with the receipt. Everything else: checked baggage.
Wrap each bottle in a thick piece of clothing (or bubble wrap), in the middle of the suitcase, away from the edges. Keep the receipts: if Brazilian customs asks, they're your proof of value.
